Weather and calendar board: free circle time printable
A weather and calendar board is the part of circle time or morning meeting where the group looks outside, says what the weather is like, and finds today on the calendar. This free PDF has a weather board (8 kinds of weather, hot to cold, what to wear and the season) and a calendar page with the days of the week, arrow cards for yesterday, today and tomorrow, lines to write the date, and a blank month.

Who it’s for
Preschool and kindergarten classes, special education classrooms with a morning meeting, homeschool, speech therapy groups, and families who talk about the day before getting dressed. Weather and days are things that change every day, so there is always something new to say.
How to use it at circle time
- Look outside first. Go to the window, or open the door. The board is for saying what you see.
- Point and say it. “It’s rainy.” Point to two pictures to say more: rainy and cold.
- Ask what to wear. “It’s cold. What should we wear?” Point to coat and warm hat.
- Move the calendar arrows. Move today to the new day, and yesterday and tomorrow with it. Write the date.
- Hand it over. Give one student the weather helper job each day, and let them point while the class says it.
From weather to getting dressed
The What should I wear? row links the weather to the clothes. At home, check the weather board before getting dressed, then use the clothes cards on the getting dressed visual schedule to put the right clothes in order.
Yesterday, today and tomorrow
Cut out the three arrow cards and stick them beside the days with tape or hook-and-loop dots. Each morning, move all three down one day. Ask about them: “What day was yesterday? What’s tomorrow?” Use the blank month to number the days, mark today with a sticker, and draw in birthdays, trips and holidays.
Morning meeting. Today’s weather helper, Ruby, goes to the window, then points to cloudy and cool. The class says it with her: “Cloudy. Cool.” “What should we wear?” Ruby points to coat. Then she moves the today arrow from Monday to Tuesday, and the teacher writes the date.
